What To Expect

There are over 50 varieties of King Cakes including King Cakes from:  Gambino’s, Hi Do, Bywater Bakery, Cannata’s, Caludas, NOCCA, District DSB, Sugar Love Bakery, and Girls Gone Vegan. The list of King Cake flavors is endless. No matter what kind of  Carnival King Cake Hubtreat you prefer, you will find it at the King Cake Hub at the Mortuary. They have traditional King Cakes and King Cakes with filling including, but not limited to, Cream Cheese, Bavarian Cream, Chocolate Cream Cheese, Strawberry Cream Cheese, Raspberry Cream Cheese, Praline, Lemon Cream and many more.

Other specialty King Cakes include the Dragon Claw and the Epiphany King Cake.

This year, the King Cake Hub is offering a “Lunch & Learn” series on Tuesdays from 12-1 pm featuring a selection of Carnival-related workshops and discussions including live podcast recordings of The Purse Chronicles and Beyond Bourbon St, book signings with Poppy Tooker and Laura Cayouette, wine pairings with Brian Perkins, costume making with NOLA Craft Culture and a sneak preview of “The Professor Carl Nivale Show” with Carnival icons Professor Carl Nivale and Grand Marshal Marty Graw. The series is free and lunches will be available for pre-order. All events will be held at the Mortuary 4800 Canal St in Mid-City.

The King Cake Hub at the Mortuary is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the Carnival season.
