Something New Is Coming ……Scout Island Scream Park

This year, The Mortuary is producing a new level of fear:  Scout Island Scream Park in New Orleans City Park. Both attractions will offer locals and visitors to the city a variety of Halloween entertainment for the entire family.

“Land of terror,” “Island of horrors” are only a few terms to describe Scout Island Scream Park which gets ready to open in October in New Orleans City Park. With the help of The Mortuary Haunted Mansion, the island located in the park just North of I-610 will become “more than a just a haunted house, but a thrill-seeker’s dream or nightmare,” promises Bob Becker, City Park CEO.

The idyllic island will offer several thrill themed zones starting with Cirque du Fear, a sort “circus freak show” which will of course feature scary clowns, the Blood Bayou Fright zone will test your nerves with scary skeleton pirates and at the Zombie Outbreak Battlefield you’ll get a chance to shoot zombies using laser technology. If that’s not enough , you can go on the Devil’s Swamp Tour, visit the Scream Factory or the Horseman’s Fright Zone.  After all that screaming you might want to relax and get something to drink at the Kraken Beer & Spirits Pirate Club. The project, which has been in the making for about two years,  is “something the city has not seen before,” says Jeff Borne owner of the Mortuary Haunted House.

If you do not have nerves of steel, there are some scare free options during daylight hours including the Haunted Hayride or the Kids Zone.

About The Mortuary Haunted Mansion

Fear Never Felt So Good…The Mortuary Haunted Mansion Opens For Its 12th Year. Dare to visit a Haunted House…in a Real Haunted House…Located at the foot of Canal Street in historic New Orleans, The Mortuary Haunted Mansion is in a class of fear all by itself.  The attraction is set within the walls of a three story mansion built in 1872. It operated as a real funeral home for almost 100 years. “It’s not your typical haunted attraction,” commented Jeff Borne, Owner. Paranormal Investigators from around the world have verified that the mansion is actually haunted. When you add that to the high end special effects, animatronics, theatrical sets and professional actors, our visitors get a world-class, haunted thrill ride ranked as one of the best in the country.
